Medcom has delivered modern chargers with an inverted pantograph for buses in Ventspils, Latvia

Medcom designed, manufactured and installed 3 pantograph chargers each with an inverted pantograph for the city of Ventspils in Latvia. The task of the devices, each of which has a power of 150 kW, will be to charge electric minibuses.

As part of the contract, Medcom delivered communication modules between the charger and the vehicle, which are compliant with the European standard ISO-15118. The Warsaw-based company was also responsible for the installation of the chargers. Two fast charging stations for electric buses (charging takes about 10 minutes) are located at the bus terminals, and the third – a slow or overnight charging station (including 14 charging points) – in the bus depot. Each charger is equipped with an inverted pantograph, and in the event of its damage, it is possible to charge the vehicle using the CCS Combo 2 cable.

Thanks to the solutions used, the operating costs of the introduced electric buses and infrastructure are much lower than the operating costs of analogue diesel buses. The chargers supplied by Medcom are also distinguished by their very quiet operation, while their high quality and reliability mean that the manufacturer was able to provide a very long, seven-year warranty on them.
